DESIGN PROCESS.

1966 is a story about an aspiring singer Misty and a her four colleagues whose friendship is tested. Due to an act of betrayal, a tense late-night car ride to their music gig, ends in a troubling experience.

The design concept was inspired by the director's perspective of a "cool" look inspired by Jazz and Motown musicians of the era including Nancy Wilson and Miles Davis. From my research, I pulled additional design inspiration from The Supremes, The Temptations as well as Frankie Valli and the Four Tops.

For this production, color was the most important design element as the director wanted vivid blue in the clothing to match the production design.
